Sean McPheat thank guy for your insight and I could not have agreed more. 11 L&D harsh truth : 1. The objective of learning is not learning. It’s performance improvement. 2. The learning pyramid is just tosh! 3. As an L&D manager you’re never going to get the budget you need to really transform your organisation. 4. Don’t chase every shiny bright L&D trend and product. Do the basics extraordinarily well instead. 5. Sometimes learning and development is not the answer. 6. It’s not too difficult to measure ROI. You just don’t know how to! 7. Trainers don’t necessarily need experience in the industry to train it. You want fresh ideas from other industries as well. 8. Learning management systems: KPI’s are not all about usage, they should be about tangible results. 9. Don’t underestimate the power of informal learning. 10. You need to be providing resources so people can learn in their moment of need. 11. No one has the attention span of a goldfish!

Really solid take on AI use in education. Very similar to some training I'm running for some clients later this month! You can't detect if it's being used by students. Attempts to do so fall short and largely penalise students with certain styles, especially those for whom English is a second language. We should be using this new modality to raise the bar, not try to penalise students for not using an inelegant system.

🤖We need to level the playing field and challenge what humans bring to the table. Nicely said in the video below. 🧮 Calculators, internet, email, cell phones, NFTs (not really 😉) AI, are all examples of disrupting technologies that we have embraced and included into our daily motions. 🧬We should not be afraid of any of these technologies replacing our jobs, but be more aware of those who are embracing and using these to advance. The real threat is staying complacent and doing nothing to move forward. #tech #ai #aiadoption

Students use AI, if they don't, there is something wrong there. Basic knowledge can be easily researched online, not even need an AI tool, just a search engine will do. We can't stop it. The world is moving fast. Education needs to speed up. I agree with this we bring the learning & teaching experience to the next level. Think about art critique, reflection, artistic intention, artist statement etc.
