Great panel on #accessibility and #inclusion at RNID’s Staff Summit. Important takeaways: 🚀 Make accessibility guidance industry-specific, so businesses can make quick changes straight away. 🚀 Auracast has the potential to make a massive difference for people with hearing loss to access audio in public places. 🚀 Regulatory pressure can accelerate change and provide the specific guidance businesses need to make services more accessible. 🚀 Cross-sector collaboration can make access solutions better and available much quicker.
Thank you to Kathryn Townsend, Jonathan Penny and Alastair Moore for sharing your passion in driving accessibility and Inclusion across banking and broadcasting at the RNID all staff summit #Inclusion #accessibilitymatters #deaf #hearingloss #technology

FinTech has a bigger gender problem than it realises 👀 Whilst a lot of good work is being done to encourage more women into the sector, women still represent only about 28% of the Fintech workforce. However, here's an eye-opening fact: an astonishing quarter of all CFGdegree graduates have successfully entered roles within the financial services sector 💪 There is a strong desire within our community to work in this industry. We believe that one crucial aspect of closing Fintech's gender gap is creating alternative pathways into the field. Join us at stand P5 at FinTech Connect to learn how Code First Girls is helping organisations like NatWest Group, Starling Bank, and ClearBank to unlock diverse talent pipelines. 🗓️ December 6-7th 📍 ExCel, London In the meantime, check out Starling Bank's blog to discover the journey of their CFG graduates. Today is the second annual Social Mobility Awareness Day in the UK – a day dedicated to promoting the importance of creating equal opportunities for all. I’m honoured to be an Ally of our social mobility agenda here at Lloyds Banking Group. We believe that social mobility is not just a societal good but a business imperative. Ensuring that everyone has an equal chance to succeed, regardless of their background, aligns with our core value of inclusivity. For us, it’s all about levelling the playing field so that we support people with diverse perspectives and experiences, bring in the best talent, and create a pathway for potential innovators and leaders to drive change and growth. For me personally, social mobility is about fairness. Everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential and pursue their dreams. By advocating initiatives that champion social mobility and break down barriers to success, we are helping everyone to be the very best that they can be. #socialmobilityawarenessday #socialmobility #socialmobilityatwork #inclusion #inclusivity #lloydsbankinggroup #diversityandinclusion #lloydsbankinggroupsocialmobility

Rapidly changing global context took a new meaning over the past years, hampering the literacy progress and widening inequalities across world regions, countries, and populations. In low- and middle-income countries, the share of 10-year-old children who could not read and understand a simple text with comprehension has increased from 57 per cent in 2019 to an estimated 70 per cent in 2022. In this context, this year’s International Literacy Day will be celebrated worldwide under the theme, ‘Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies’.
