Working in a multi award winning team to help Nurses, Allied Health & ARRS professionals find primary care roles
69% of clinicians working in Primary Care have seen there workload increase, following on from the move to Integrated Care Systems and in some cases, PCN's. Many GP's believe that collaboration has improved, but the moves haven't eased the burdens of incredibly high workloads, across the clinical workforce. More needs to be done to ensure greater support for practices and the longer-term success of Primary Care Networks. Health Advocacy | Community Organizing | Adjunct Lecturer at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health | Executive Director at People Power Health | Lifelong Activist
A colleague recently shared, "I would never pay for membership in a professional association myself, but I’m a member only because my employer covers the cost." This sentiment is becoming increasingly common among clinicians. As someone who cares deeply about clinician advocacy and professional development, I find this trend concerning. Clinicians are increasingly disengaging from their professional organizations, with recent data indicating a significant decline in membership and participation. This disengagement threatens our collective ability to address critical healthcare issues effectively. Interestingly, there's a growing movement towards unionization among physicians and medical residents, alongside nurses. This trend suggests a need for collective spaces that are relevant and impactful. Additionally, large online communities, like the one led by Nisha Mehta, MD, offer new avenues for information, connection, and a sense of belonging. Could these modern platforms serve as a new foundation for collective power and transformation in healthcare? What do you think? What organizations or groups are you part of? We believe in person-centered care. That all people deserve dignity and respect. That clients should have a voice in their own care and take ownership of their treatment. This is not an abstract ideal. It's something to be be expressed through tangible policies, plans, and ACTION. Actions like… - Creating a welcoming environment for people regardless of their ethnicity, gender, background, or life experiences. - Personalizing our treatment for every client… making sure they get the right care for their unique circumstances. - Re-evaluating those custom plans every single week as a team… and adjusting our care as needed. - Hiring exceptional therapists who have years of experience helping people in intensive outpatient programs. - Turning away clients who aren’t a fit for our programs… even if it costs us in the short term. - Referring clients to other providers if necessary and making sure they’re cared for after discharge. - Investing in training for our therapists and other staff. - Asking for honest feedback from our clients, staff, and other stakeholders… and following through on their recommendations. What about you? What does person-centered care mean in your work/organization? What does it look like in action? #mentalhealth #care #quality #personcentered

Calling all Community Health Centers still trying to increase the number of patients you serve in a year. Steal my proven strategies for attracting new patients and becoming top-of-mind for people looking for medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services. Year after year my health center consistently gained nearly 1,000 unique patients by doing the following: ✅ Speaking about our FQHC to community groups, religious groups, civic groups, and business groups. ✅ Partnering with large employers to be the Preferred Primary Care Provider for their employees. ✅ Hosting Open Houses at your clinics to bring people through your doors. Be sure to serve food! ✅ Show off your providers and staff on social media. Putting a friendly face to the services builds that "know, like and trust" factor. ✅ Provide "social proof" and post (with permission and anonymously) patient reviews. ✨Click link in profile to get access to my free workbook for more information. #fqhc #chc #businessconsultant #businessstrategy
