In May, we commemorated 30 years at our North Portland, Oregon distribution center. For two hours, we suspended operations so that everyone could join in the festivities. We hosted a luncheon with outside catering, a local marching band called The Beat Goes On, and speeches from our CEO, Tim Boyle, and other special guests. We express our heartfelt thanks to all past and present employees of the distribution center for their outstanding contributions and their dedication, which make working here a great place to be.

What is one thing that you geek out about?
It's sad, but I really don't geek out about much. Maybe the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. I love my Chicago teams, but geeking out is probably a stretch.
What is one way that you unwind?
Either by getting my sweat on (exercising, even though it doesn't show) or fixing something. I'm not super handy, but I enjoy giving it a try and feel really good when it actually works after I tried.
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Perm's for guys - nevermind, I wouldn't be able to get one anyway.
What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Howard Stern - please don't judge. I think he does an amazing job interviewing people and is not afraid to ask questions others shy away from.
What is one of your favorite books?
I really don't read fiction but I do enjoy a good business book. One of my favorites is Oren Harari, Break from the Pack. It's about how to compete in a copy cat society and Malcolm Gladwell's, Outliers and What the Dog Saw - lots of short, facsinating stories.
Favorite quote?
"A man with one watch knows the time. A man with two is never sure."

(b/c you are NOT the two above ☝🏼, but Ross Kimball IS and you need to get him on your radar)
1) If you host a podcast. He will be your next best interview!! His stories are amazing!
2) If you are a financial planning firm looking for the best “non-financial” speaker at your next meeting!!
WHY HIRE ROSS?!?
I have introduced Ross to a number of my clients, and this is what I say…
”You know how almost every firm meeting that you've ever been to has needed that extra pick me up throughout the day...
Typically from someone who is not even "in" our industry...
You want that amazing speaker to bring some life and energy back into the room... AND at the same time make a massive impact with the group in an immediately practical way!
THAT'S WHY I am making this introduction.”
PS - Neither Dave Resseguie nor The Resseguie Group receive any compensation for promoting ANY OTHER SPEAKER.
PPS - I decline kickbacks of any kinds for referring people. Ross is just “good people” and you should hire him ASAP.

This Monday, 4th March 2024, we woke up to more injuries, deaths, and loved ones holding onto the lifeless bodies of their children, feeling the agonizing helplessness. Three months into 2024, there seems to be nothing worthwhile celebrating. As we approach Ramadan, when our brothers and sisters are being killed by bombs and starvation, it's crucial to reflect on what is truly worth celebrating.
In the context of workplace recognitions, celebrations, and awards, it's essential to consider how these events align with our values and humanity. Winning a trophy while choosing not to speak up for those who are suffering raises questions about the true meaning of success. How can we celebrate when we fail at the most basic aspect of being human—compassion and empathy for others?
🌟I help employers understand young people better! 🌈 Gen Z Engagement Expert, Speaker & Founder of Fairy Job Mother a 20K+ Community For Young People & Consultancy🧚Featured in The Independent, The Guardian & The Metro
I've spoken to 30+ employers in the last 90 days and the ONE skill-gap they've all identified is RESILIENCE.
This week I delivered a workshop to a group of THE most resilient young people I've ever met as part of GoodWork's onboarding programme.
Some were care leavers, homeless, victims of domestic violence and all from low income backgrounds.
These young people have gone through SO much and are living and breathing examples of true resilience...
Yet are locked out of certain industries because due to no fault of their own don't have a degree or A-Levels.
Resilience is a skill that's taught from life experience's not grades
Don't be that employer that throws the words social mobility and D&I around but isn't willing to actually do the work or make a change.
Want to actually make a change? Contact Felicity Halstead to learn more about how to give a group of young people who want to work more than anything a chance.
How do you show up at work?
Yesterday we were joined by Shoshanna Davis for a session on Personal Impact with the young people on our new programme.
We talked about professional behaviours, the importance of storytelling and why the way you show up at work is just as important as the work we do.
We're so grateful to Shoshanna and all the brilliant volunteers who've supported our programme so far.

I'm sharing this in hopes that it reaches the Black marketers struggling to find their "why" in their work. I see you.
I first got into marketing because I felt like people who looked like me needed to be spoken to. Growing up in a predominantly white community in Alberta had its challenges, and it wasn't until I moved to Toronto at 19 that I felt seen. It took me walking down Queen Street and seeing diversity in the streets to realize that someone who looks like me can feel beautiful and occupy space. I've carried that feeling with me for the last 13 years.
My career at Lush has been a catalyst for change. I've been given numerous opportunities to be the change I wanted to see when I was younger, and one of those opportunities was activating at AFROPUNK Worldwide LLC in Brooklyn, NY. Don't get me wrong, it still took some "work" proving the value to a few people (who don't work at the business anymore)
but it also gained interest from our global team, which gave me the support I needed to create the concept of Club Lush.
Club Lush is all about community, creativity, connection and a little bit of chaos (in the most fun way). It's inspired by providing a space to feel safe, beautiful and, more importantly, to feel seen. That's what we did, and after two long years, we saw this space come to life.
Brand activations don't have to be about conversion. It's not about "selling" your brand. Creating an emotional memory with someone will have a more long-term impact than anything else. I watched many beautiful Black folks create those memories with Lush at Afropunk (thanks to our lovely film and photo team, you can also witness these moments in the video below).
So here's to my Black marketers. I know it's hard sometimes because it can feel lonely, but don't lose sight of your "why". You have the power to create change, and when you feel like giving up, know that a fellow Black marketer from Canada is cheering you on.
