To land Director to CPO jobs, Product Leaders must leverage Executive Search firms. They hold the keys to the hidden job market. Here is a lay of the land. Aakash Gupta and I wrote in depth about this in the Product Leadership Job Search and I followed up recently with the Tech Exec's Job Search Playbook. I recommend both reads. Comment if you want contacts or my thoughts on working with them as a candidate or hiring manager
Thanks Andrew Abramson Matt Johnson Theresa Skelly Bobby Gormsen Vidur Dewan and co for educating me on this!

Amazing. Thank you for sharing there. Who the top search firms are shouldn’t be a secret, but I didn’t even know the big 5.
So interesting
I have a contrarian opinion. I think the market for executive headhunting is outdated. After all, what do one of these executive recruiting firms do. They go through LinkedIn, select a few candidates, and ask them the same types of questions that a company recruiter would. What exactly is the value-add that they’re bringing to the table?
Thanks for the People Project mention Colin Lernell! First time I’ve heard of them being called SHREK, may need to borrow that 😜
Thanks Colin, great information here. Might ping you for specific contacts if that's ok.
Any others I missed? People Project and…?
