The Green Dot symbol does not mean that the packaging it is applied to is recyclable. It does not have any environmental or recycling meaning. It simply means that the company has donated some money for the recycling of packaging somewhere in the world. **RECYCLING EVEN MORE PLASTIC...** 📈🚀 At Eco Brixs HQ, we’re recycling more and more… and MORE plastic! Previously in February, we were thrilled to tell you how Eco Brixs had experienced a record-breaking month, recycling 52 tonnes of plastic waste in a single month. Well, we’re excited to announce that our recycling rates have continued to increase. In March, we recycled 78 tonnes of plastic. Then in April, we surpassed even this - recycling an incredible 91 tonnes of plastic! As we pay for every kilogram of plastic we receive from the community, more recycling means more money is placed into the hands of local people, helping them to fund essentials such as rent, food and school fees for their children. Recycle Week starts today! ♻️ The theme this year is ‘The Big Recycling Hunt’ which puts a focus on common missed capture items that can be recycled. The campaign will ensure people know the items they can recycle and encourage them to hunt for these missed recycling opportunities. Recycling is a crucial part of ecological transformation and helps decrease pollution, protect resources and reverse the effects of climate change. As well as supporting people to recycle in the home, we are working with customers across a range of sectors to recycle materials beyond 'typical' recycling streams: 🌍 Working with Tesco, we are turning soft plastics into planters, which are being donated to schools via our Veolia Orchard scheme. 🌍 We are supporting Totally Wicked customers to recycle their used vapes, to enable valuable materials to be extracted. 🌍 We have worked with Dulux Decorator Centre to recycle over one million paint cans. Earth Day 🌎 Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future. This year’s Earth Day is unwavering in its commitment to end plastics. In the UK alone we use more than 2.5 billion paper cups a year and we recycle less than 0.5% of those. There are 2 misconceptions about paper cups recycling: ❌ Paper cups can't be recycled as they have a plastic coating. ❌ Paper cups can be disposed of in the standard recycling bin. 💡In fact, paper cups can be recycled, but they need a dedicated recycling bin.
