Laboratory Assistant || Aspiring Clinical Embryologist || Graduate Anatomist || Volunteering || Millinery Trainer
Please ma'am, can you help me change the result to 'Negative'? __________________________________ Whatever environment I come into, I am particular about how my actions and activities will affect those that I come in contact with directly or indirectly. Also, in my role as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, I am particular about how the diagnosis we make affects our Patients. Hepatitis Virus (particularly the B type) has become the new "HIV" and it's one you may look so healthy, but can present with it when tested. I got worried when a patient whose job security was at risk cause she tested positive for Hepatitis B and the only way she could think of keeping her Job in this dangling economy was to request a change of result, to favor her situation. Of course, it's not possible, cause the Laboratory stands for Precision and Integrity. But I am wondering, are there no Human resources HR or Labour laws that are general, and not just for a particular sector, that protects a worker who presents with a particular illness, even while in active service? Are there agencies (government, Private, or nongovernmental) that are responsible for offering services for individuals with Hepatitis B? If there are, it will be good if they get to the grassroots, going to the Primary Health Centers PHCs and Medical Laboratories to offer services, so that individuals that present with this virus can obtain help and management early and not think it's the end of life for them. I'd love to know of labor laws and health acts that protect workers and make them keep their Jobs while getting all the treatment they need, whether workers in the public or private sector, and how these laws work. Thank you. #healthcare #hepatitisb #hepatitisvirus #laboratorymedicine #reproductivemedicine #health #infertility #healthawareness #humanresources #laboract #laborlaws

Our NEW report analyzes data from the 2022 US Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-led survey of contraceptive use, nonuse and preferences for 26 US states, Puerto Rico and Guam. Following the Dobbs decision, state-level data are crucial in understanding how shifts in reproductive health policy impact access and quality of care. Our analysis affirms that barriers to provider-based care continue to create gaps between contraceptive methods used and methods preferred. Notably, our experts found that there are higher unfulfilled preferences among people using exclusively over-the-counter contraceptive methods during the last time they had intercourse than people who used at least one method that is typically obtained from a provider. Person-centered, compassionate and comprehensive contraceptive care is imperative to meeting patients' sexual and reproductive health needs. Learn more and read the full report: https://gu.tt/4aKPaFN

As with most people living with a chronic illness, it is all of the issues on that list (and more)... the most important thing for us all to remember is that we are still all individuals and need to be treated (and supported) as such... "yes" there is a real strength in belonging to a strong community, but we all have different challenges and needs throughout our journey... The real challenge is ensuring that we have an NHS which is robust and invested enough in to provide the skills and expertise to support such communities... #diabetes #nhs #disabled #chronicillness Diabetes UK JDRF UK
