Driving productivity and retention in clean energy 🌿 | HR and Organizational Development strategist | Let's connect🔥
Gen Z is flocking to these fast-growing job markets—they're not on the coasts. (And they're not in the industries you would think.) We know Gen Z is rethinking their relationship with work differently than past generations have. And it seems they're rethinking locations and industries to focus in too. New data from LinkedIn shows the metro areas around Tucson, Arizona; Tallahassee, Florida; and Gainesville, Florida; are the fastest-growing job markets for entry-level roles. They also analyzed which industries are on a hiring spree for new talent. Here's where it gets interesting. Out of the top 10 locations, 5 are led by hiring in manufacturing. In AZ, TN, GA, CT and Huntsville, AL. While education is hiring the most in FL, professional services hiring leads in IA and Birmingham, AL. I had a similar conversation with a clean energy business owner yesterday. He shared that are he looks to scale his company, he's excited by Gen Z's openness to working in the trades. We shared that when we grew up the trades were looked at as something you did if you couldn't cut it in college. But today's talent sees good training, good pay, and a career they don't have to bring home work every night. So, whether you're in clean energy or another industry that desperately needs Gen Z talent, consider what your industry and company have to offer that today's talent wants. It might not be where or what you think. Link in bio for more reading on this topic. #genz #hiring #jobmarket #career

You want Diversity? Try hiring someone without a college degree or MBA for a position that obviously does not need one. Try hiring someone from outside your industry. Try finding people who don't think like all the other people you are hiring.

Next-Generation MedTech Leadership: A Practical Program for Building Communication, Collaboration, and Creative Problem-Solving Skills to Drive Innovation and Growth
Does a fancy degree automatically translate to a rockstar employee? A higher degree isn't the only positive assessment of someone, as the video suggests! While a solid educational background can undoubtedly be an asset, it's not a substitute for the right attitude. The ability to work effectively with others, regardless of background or experience, is essential for a productive team. Refrain from dismissing candidates from less prestigious schools or those with unconventional career paths. A stellar resume might get someone hired, but the right attitude will propel others to success. Agree? #leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment 📹VC: IG - @the_leadership_lighthouse

What a job candidate has done before isn't relevant. That's right... read that again. What a job candidate has done before isn't relevant. What matters is what they will do for you with what they've learned. I would love to see a resume that focused not on quantifiable achievements but rather on what the person learned from that role. That provides far more insight about how they'll behave in the future. #HireBetter
Are we hiring for the past or the future? It’s easy to get caught up in a candidate’s history, but I believe we often overlook a crucial factor: their potential. Hiring based on past achievements is like driving while only looking in the rearview mirror. Let's start focusing on the road ahead. What candidates can learn, how they can grow, and the new directions they can take us. It's not just about where they've been, but where they can go with the right opportunities.
