Giant Ideas 2024: what a day! Yesterday we hosted Giant Ideas at London's Tate Modern - our annual summit for purpose-driven global leaders to share their giant ideas in climate, health and inclusive capitalism. We heard from iconic American entrepreneurs Ray Dalio & Arianna Huffington, David Miliband on democracy’s crucible moment and Richard Branson on the power of ideas. Square founder Jim McKelvey shared a preview of his health moonshot idea. Oatly’s Toni Petersson described the consumer psychology of climate, and Northvolt & Syre director Susanna Campbell took us behind the scenes at serial climate unicorn producer Vargas Holding. Fashion icons Anya Hindmarch and Ganni A/S founder Nicolaj Reffstrup shared their guide to building cult brands with Martha Lane Fox, and June Sarpong OBE shared a wake up call on how diversity helps you win. Plus, Booker Prize winner Sir Ben Okri meditated on the role of art in climate action and read a powerful poem to an enchanted audience. Our sessions were expertly chaired by Financial Times columnist and best-selling anthropologist Gillian Tett. Most exciting of all, our global leaders listened to the mind-bending giant ideas that are about to change our world - from hydrogen planes and AI cancer diagnostics to molecular glues. It's not every day you find ministers, Olympic champions and star founders in an art gallery. We curate these unique combinations to turn new ideas into action, and we can’t wait to see the impact that emerges from yesterday. See you next year!
