Shame on me! Just a few days ago during code review, I suggested to the developer: "Let's put your code in a documented repo under our organization instead of your private Github account". And this morning, while troubleshooting a broken CI flow, I found my GitHub workflow in the "vitalytest" repository. Of course, I'm using this repo for tests, so I deactivated this production workflow by mistake. (But yes, at least it was under proper github organization :-) #devops #humanfactor

Did some dev ops work for my world events site today. Boi it was rough as you see from my latest commit message, but Cypress.io is now running in CI now. With a docker package to docker.io, and all of this was done with GitHub actions. I just deployed a maintenance release of the first package ever that I submitted to CRAN 5+ years ago, and reflected on how great of a time it is to develop #rstats packages - the modern tooling is amazing! Thanks a to all the amazing open source developers out there. My highlights: * The #gh CLI to interact with GitHub. * #pak::pak() to painlessly install R and system dependencies. * #testthat and #devtools for local tests and checks. * #usethis::use_upkeep_issue() and use_release_issue() as a roadmap. * #pkgdown + #GitHub Actions for the website. * #GitHub Actions also for all other things CI/CD. * #r-lib/rig to easily access different R versions. * #rhub v2 (wow!) to check your package in multiple platforms. * #CRAN being incredibly fast to automatically deploy updates. My 2024th contribution on github is about Monorepos(basically repositories filled with chunks of code handling frontend(ui/depends stack), backend, devops, containers, etc,) and some projects build upon Typescript.
