Have you ever stopped to think about how (additional) language acquisition is dependent on social interaction? As you plan for professional learning moments, think about this all-important piece of data. Using audio samples and videos in English isn't efficient for language acquisition if they are NOT mediated and used in real-life social interactions!

Interesting... Refugees in various countries consistently complain about the lack of language practice, and language courses alone are insufficient for developing conversational skills. I developed a smartphone application that engages with users at the level of a native speaker, using customizable voices in all European languages. It notifies users about errors using advanced neural networks. The conversation topics are taken from language exams and real-life situations. I shared this information on social media, expecting to be inundated with requests for access. I was apprehensive because I pay for the translation API and access to the neural network myself, and during the product testing phase, it's free for users. However, I was shocked by how few people showed interest. Yet, everyone continues to complain about the lack of communication practice. Can anyone suggest why? Those who have tried it are thrilled. I don't understand... #LanguageLearning #Refugees #LanguagePractice #ConversationalSkills #LanguageApp #NeuralNetworks #TechForGood #EdTech #SocialImpact

Service to overcome language barriers Have you ever had to communicate with a person through a translator? If yes, then you probably understand how time-consuming and inconvenient it can be to copy messages between the Messenger and Google Translate apps. The eternal dream of probably many is the absence of any language barriers. So that everyone understands each other clearly and simply. Yous is a service that can make this dream come true. Everyone speaks their own language, but everyone understands each other. Next to the video call, a small chat is displayed that generates text translated into the user’s native language using a neural network. #redfishiaven #translation #language
