React 19 Beta is here, and finally has better support for HTML custom elements: https://lnkd.in/dq4MWuXY > React 19 adds full support for custom elements and passes all tests on Custom Elements Everywhere. In past versions, using Custom Elements in React has been difficult because React treated unrecognized props as attributes rather than properties This is a big deal for Web Component-powered design systems. We've had to create/manage a special React-specific wrapper layer for a long time in order to deal with React's (mis)handling of custom elements. Other frameworks Just Work with Web Components, so it will be nice that React will join the club. via Kevin Coyle #react #webcomponents #designsystems #frontend #uidevelopment

I think I would also weigh-in and say, if accurate, that supporting web components (if that is what react 19 is purporting to support in version 19), is more of a bug fix than an accolade. I love react, but I also love vanilla web components and those that make it easy to use them

Seems like React is always playing catch-up these days with newer frameworks. Caveat emptor.
