Join us in a round of applause 👏 🏆Introducing Core Value Award recipient David Gonzalez for Innovative Spirit. “My Innovative Spirit is born from being in the maintenance department. We have our customers, rig crews and operation teams — we must fill their needs. We’re the ones that they call when they’re in trouble. We’re the ones that solve the problems, provide the solutions and have that Service Attitude. That’s where Innovative Spirit really comes from because we can’t say no, we need to solve their problems. I like to be part of the solution to everything.” The Core Value Award recipients were nominated by their fellow employees and selected based on who strengthened H&P’s inclusive culture and exemplified our core values — Actively C.A.R.E., Service Attitude, Innovative Spirit, Teamwork and Do The Right Thing in 2023. We're proud to have Brandon as a President's Award winner! Not only has he grown on the job, but his dedication to doing the job right, and growing in patience proves true character that we're glad to have on our team. "In this job there can be overwhelming amounts of numbers you are dealing with at a given time, so I’ve enjoyed the patience that is required to double or even triple check that whatever function you are executing is correct and can be traced in the system correctly. That was overwhelming when I first started, but you get a sense of satisfaction when everything goes as it should." #employeeappreciation #bestplacetowork #businesservices #businessoutsourcing

He was doing the work. Now, he's leading the team! Did you miss the release of my interview with Eric Armour? If so, there's a link to watch it down below. But first, here's a bit about Eric. In the interview, Eric discusses how he faced the challenge of transitioning from a technician servicing and repairing heavy equipment in the shop to leading techs working in the shop and the field (on the road working out of a service truck). Learn about the trying times Eric and his team went through during the 10 months when they didn't have a service manager (before he became the service manager). Discover how Eric overcame the odds being stacked against him with the field techs because he had no experience as a field tech. Develop an understanding of how Eric learned that applying leadership principles to develop your team can be much more challenging than applying them to develop yourself. In this interview, Eric shares a bit of the path he's traveled to be where he is today, how choosing to become intentional about personal development has helped him personally as he's become much better at unleashing his team's potential, and how it's helped him professionally as he continues his climb up the corporate ladder. Eric is the Service Manager at Yancey Bros. Co. leading a team of service technicians in the shop and in the field. He and his team focus exclusively on maintaining heavy duty Caterpillar equipment. Don't miss the 3rd episode of the "Real People Getting Real Results!" interview series featuring Eric Armour interviewed by Mack Story, Blue-Collar Leadership® Watch it on the Blue-Collar Leadership YouTube channel at the link below and check out the other interviews in this series which can be found under the playlist titled "Real People Getting Real Results!" Leadership Coach | Speaker | Trauma-Informed | Latina Leader | Coaching leaders of color to reconnect with what they have been taught to bury inside of them
There are many reasons why recognition can feel uncomfortable: ✨ You are comparing your wins to the seemingly harder accomplishments of other family members (e.g. moving to a new country with limited resources, working 2 or 3 jobs to pay for food and shelter). ✨ You don't trust that your wins will keep coming. It worked out this time, but you are already anticipating scarcity lurking around the corner. ✨ You worry that if you allow yourself to receive compliments and celebrate yourself that you will lose your edge or your hustle. ✨ You didn't grow up with compliments and never learned how to receive them and let the words settle in. But it's so important to recognize the greatness, value, and work you are bringing into the spaces you occupy. Next time you notice yourself glazing over your accomplishments, take a pause to acknowledge your hard work and brilliance instead. Receive the compliment and build that muscle of confidence and self-trust. Want to go deeper? Relational DEI Expert. I show social impact professionals how to combine thinking, feeling, and doing to create change in organizations.
How do you decipher a person who’s ready to embark on the DEI journey and one who is not? In our conversation with Jason Vicente and Kendrick Dial, we learned that readiness often comes in the form of curiosity and self-reflection. When team leaders and members are open to hearing the thoughts of others, analyzing their responses to what they’ve heard, and implementing changes if necessary, it’s safe to say they’re ready to do the work DEI requires.
