IT IS THE SIZE OF A FIGHT IN A DOG........ After completing secondary school, my enthusiasm for basketball soared. I felt a Jordan spirit in me, and I played with passion and aggression. Aggressiveness is one of the qualities you need to have a good game because basketball is for the strong. In a twist of fate, I joined a Military team called the 2 Brigade Infantry Basketball Team. I was the youngest and smallest amongst the team members, and I was able to command respect from older and bigger players. The backdrop for an exceptional display of determination unfolded during a tournament organized by the Male Circumcision Campaign. I remember that day when I played like never before. I put my energy, drive, and aggressiveness into the game. I was playing against the big guys I used to cheer for, and I looked up to them when I was starting my basketball journey. They were good players. Some of the best players I saw stepped on the basketball court. Up until now, I wondered why they didn't make it to ZBA. Being the youngest, shortest and most inexperienced player on my team, imagine the intimidation and fear in me. But guess what? I had a different spirit ( Jordan type of spirit). The fight in me was bigger than the underdog. We played the toughest game, and alas, we won and emerged as winners of that tournament, and guess what? I was the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament. In life, we may be disadvantaged in many forms , we may not look like it now, you can be the shortest on that team, you can be the youngest in that company; and your friends may have gotten good grades. Never let the fighting spirit (Jordan Spirit) in you die. Don't let your aggressiveness towards achieving your dreams and goals be submerged by your present situation. Friends its not the size of the dog in a fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. The fight in you is bigger than the present circumstances. The fight in you can distinguish you among your peers. The fight in you can make you an MVP in your area of work. Just keep fighting.... Yes, just press on! Continue pushing the files.
