Guiding clients to live well, to understand how their choices impact their lifestyle, to find solutions and strategies to thrive and to live a more fulfilled life. :)
What's in season in February? · Beetroot · Blood oranges · Brussel sprouts · carrots · celeriac · cauliflower · cabbage · salsify · squash · spring onions · purple sprouting broccoli · parsnips · turnips · tangerines · kale · leeks · onions · Jerusalem artichokes · and more … Plan to buy your fruits and vegetables during their peak seasons and you will save money while maximizing nutrition. They not only taste better but you get more nutritional value as seasonal fruits and vegetables don’t undergo long transit times to get from the farm to your kitchen. Shorter travel times for your produce mean lower shipping costs. There is also the law of supply and demand. When fruits and veggies are in season, the farmers will most likely have an abundance of the crop and prices will go down. If you are looking for the freshest of the fresh, your local farmers are a great place to start. Go for organic whenever you can as it is so much better for your health and the environment. :-) #eatwelllivewell #eathealthy #healthyeating

HOW TO EAT MORE PLANT-BASED (EVEN IF YOU LOVE MEAT) Summer is well and truly here, and with that veggie gardening blooming, a creative mix of salads and other plant-based dishes is all the more tempting. But you're not ready to go vegan. We hear you. Veganism is not the only way to be more environmentally responsible. Adding more plants to your diet not only reduces your environmental footprint but also adds nutrients to your diet, like fibre, vitamins, and minerals. However, while you may love your greens, protein is what keeps you fuller for longer. Including plant-based protein (like tofu, lentils, beans, nuts and nut butters, seeds, and quinoa) in your dishes creates interest and helps satisfy those cravings. Can't resist a traditional braai? Give them a cameo role rather than make them the hero. Dairy, eggs, beef, poultry, and fish are allowed on the plant-based diet; they just shouldn't be the centre of the meal. It's time to grill baby marrow, eggplant, bell peppers and more. Here's to fresher, healthier and more sustainable summer eating. #SkinRenewalSA #RenewalInstitute #sustainability #sustainableliving #plantbased #eatlessmeat #vegan #plantbasedprotein
