👨💼 As an owner of a company you must understand that you need to have a good, qualified and successful team in order to become bigger than just a local business. Myself as an ex-Amazon, ex-DHL Supply Chain employee I understand that a lot of companies focus more on experiences and if you have that "golden ticket" that you worked in corporations like APPLE, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT or JPMORGAN, you instantly move forward to the next stage of an interview and tens and hundreds potential employees with much higher expertise, connections are thrown away. Of course we must take a count of that people understand where do they go when they apply for certain positions but "golden ticket" must not give you a priority lane into the position. That's how I see it. My company RedwolfMeta does not have ex-APPLE, ex-BINANCE or any other big corporation ex-employee. We have strong team of people who are striving to earn money, make our company a success and at the same time have a possibility of earning additional income. I believe in 2 years from now our company will be STRIVING and will the number 1 in #metaverse industry to develop immersive spaces for businesses around the globe. 2023 was the year of tech industry layoffs, however thanks to the ‘’AI Arms race’, 2024 could see a hiring upswing in the tech space as the skills of future grow in demand. Meta announces that they are expecting headcount to be ‘meaningfully higher than last year’. It will be interesting to see if there is a knock effect across our region… my money says yes. Most big businesses are wanting to develop their own tech or wanting to be more like a tech firm (particularly when valuations are considered). I’d be curious if tech firms or tech departments across our region are seeing similar intentions to invest back into headcount after layoffs. https://lnkd.in/gMKKSAfZ

The assumption that hiring more people will make a company grow may be flawed. Pointing out that “Meta announced a 22% reduction in headcount coupled with a 25% increase in revenue, resulting in a net income of $14 Billion, up 203% from the year before. This means Meta, a $160+ billion company, is generating 35% net profit after tax (higher than Google, Apple, or Microsoft.)”, Josh Bersin provides a data-driven deep dive into the “why & how”. Since being let go from Meta, I have received literally hundreds of phone calls, emails, texts with essentially the same message…URGENTLY HIRING for a Product Design Prototyper role at Meta!!! Today hit a new low at $55/h for a contractor role with no benefits. For reference and transparency, when I worked at Microsoft on the HoloLens Design team pre-launch as a contractor I was paid $150/h in 2014! It’s pretty wild to think in 10 years wages for essential the same job have become devalued to 36% of what they were and if you adjust for inflation that drops to 27% of what wages were 10 years ago! (UPDATE, dropping from $58 to $55, cause 3 different recruiting companies msg'd me for the same job today, so I updated the numbers lol)
