QED Investors is fortunate to had led a $20M Series A round in Payabli. We're really excited to have the opportunity to work with Joseph Elias Phillips, William Corbera, and the whole team and to join up with our friends at TTV Capital, Fika Ventures, and Bling Capital. Many of the largest fintechs have been built in the payments infrastructure space (Paypal - $66B, Stripe - $65B, Square - $40B, Adyen - $38B), and a massive opportunity still exists today. At QED, we have been watching the ongoing tectonic shift of trillions of dollars in payment processing migrating from legacy technologies and traditional distribution channels to being embedded within software platforms. We are thrilled to support Payabli in helping software platforms transform payments from a cost center into a monetization engine. Previously, building a payment processing and analytics stack has been complex and required significant resources. But, Payabli's payments infrastructure has simplified the process, allowing platforms to avoid cumbersome integrations, substantial administration, and high compliance costs. We haven’t won anything yet. Grateful and honored to raise capital from QED Investors, TTV Capital, Fika Ventures, and Bling Capital on this Series A, but “we haven’t won anything yet”. This is a motto our team embraces every single day because it is a reminder that we have a huge responsibility to our investors, to ourselves, and most importantly to our software partners who believe in us. We carry the responsibility to continue to build modern, world class, embeddable payment tools that allow platforms to monetize payments. When I started in the industry over 20 years ago, payments were primarily distributed through ISOs. The industry was built around this distribution model, but the world is changing and changing fast. Businesses operate on vertical SaaS platforms to be more efficient and productive and this transition isn’t slowing down. SaaS platforms have traditionally relied on legacy rails, and disparate APIs that have supported the ISO and Payfac models of the past; but they want more. They deserve more. There must be a better way. This is why Payabli was born and doing its part in pioneering a new category called payments infrastructure as a service. We will remain laser focused on unifying Pay In, Pay Out, Pay Ops through a single unified API. We’ve built from the ground up a modern infrastructure stack that makes it easy for our beloved software partners to embed and monetize payments flowing through their platforms. In addition to great technology, our team is unmatched. We believe in bringing an exceptional partner experience and care deeply about their happiness level with our tools and people. We truly care and that makes Joseph Elias Phillips and I very proud. The $2 million seed funding round led by Y Combinator (YC) has been #raised by the fintech startup Bujeti. Others who participated in the #round include Arash Ferdowsi, co-founder of Dropbox, Alan Rutledge, Tristan Walker of Heirloom VC, Abdul 'Tomiwa' Hassan, CEO of Mono, and Entrée Capital, Voltron Capital, UnpopularVC, Kima Ventures. Fixed-income investment platform Tap Invest (Formerly Leaf Round) has raised $2 million in its seed round led by Turbostart. Snow Leopard Financial Group Ventures alongside angel investors like Kunal Shah and Kashyap Shah have also participated in the round. The startup’s existing backers Upsparks Capital and Superb Capital too continued to support the platform in this round. Tap Invest (Formerly Leaf Round) is a fintech startup that offers asset renting as an alternative investment product and claims to have witnessed strong traction from its early users since its launch in April 2022. Previously, the startup had raised $300K in its pre-seed funding from micro VC firm Upsparks Capital, Superb Capital and senior business leaders from McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, Barclays, and Adobe in April last year.
