Charged Up: The 2024 Dodge Charger is Finally Here: Muscle cars are going electric. Well, maybe not across the board. The internal-combustion engine Mustang seems safe, at least in the short term. That said, there will be at least one muscle-car EV on the market soon: The 2024 Dodge Charger. #car #cars #awesome

My mini review of the Mustang Mach-E: Ford had a fleet of its new Mustang Mach-E SUVs available for test drives at last weekend's car show at the Detroit Institute of Arts, so I signed up for a quick lap around downtown. Here's what stood out: 1. This thing is quick. With an open street in front of us, my Ford co-pilot/chaperone, Brian, said "you can punch it if you'd like." So I did. Let's just say that 650 foot/pounds of torque can launch the Mach-E from a standing start to blur mode in about three seconds. (2) This thing is quiet, which is incongruous for someone like me who has associated power with noise. (The Mach-E can play fake exhaust noise if you want.) (3) But driving is intuitively close to driving an ICE. As I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the vehicle "idled" forward and was smoothly responsive to pressure on the accelerator. It did take a moment to adjust to regenerative braking, although there's the benefit of some braking even before the foot hits the brake pedal in a panic stop. Overall, I'm impressed. It's not the same as my 2009 "retro" Mustang sitting in my driveway, but that's not the intent. This is Ford's thoughtful leap into the EV/SUV category. It's roomy, well-mannered in traffic, and ready to run. #ford #mustangmache #mustang #fordsuv #torque #caranddriver

The unique characteristics and components of EVs result in their fastener requirements being quite different to those of traditional ICE cars. And when it comes to performance EVs, these requirements tend to be different again. Our latest blog 'Fastening The Future' covers some of the key differences between standard and high-performance EV fastener requirements! 😁 Click the link below to read our latest blog and find out more! 👇 https://lnkd.in/eSkkG8NF #autofasteners #fasteners #automotive #betterconnected #letsconnect

Electric Cars Of The Future. Electric Cars You'll Soon Be Able To Buy Honda Prologue (Expected: 2024) Honda doesn't currently offer a fully electric model in the U.S., but that's all about to change. Set to arrive in 2024, the Honda Prologue is a mid-size SUV that's around the same size as the Passport. Through a partnership with General Motors on EV powertrains, this new EV will use GM's Ultium battery packs and appears to share components with the Chevy Blazer EV. Initial renderings show that the Prologue has a clean design inside and out, but we don't yet know mechanical details. Expect single- and dual-motor configurations and multiple battery-pack sizes. As the name implies, the Prologue is the first of many upcoming electric vehicles from the brand. Acura also plans to add a fully electric model to its lineup that will be called ZDX. Honda has committed to selling only EVs by 2040.

Great article from MotorTrend regarding speed vs range on a 1000-mile road-trip with the Ford Lightning. Guess what speed provided the fastest arrival time assuming the charging stations are functioning and available? I might just drive a little slower up north to avoid having to stop and charge my Mustang Mach-e.

Porsche has introduced the most powerful mass-produced car it has ever made. The electric 1,093-horsepower Taycan Turbo GT, coming to market this summer, has already set two race track speed record for an electric car. It even beat one set by a Tesla Model S by a gigantic 18 seconds. High horsepower numbers and eye-popping acceleration are more common among electric cars than gasoline-powered ones, especially since EVs can have multiple motors. Performance numbers figures like these serve little practical value, of course. It would be impossible to approach this car’s potential other than at a track and few would have the driving skills to do it. This is about giving customers the ability to brag about what their car can, theoretically, do and, for Porsche, putting aside concerns about whether electric cars, with their heavy batteries and near silent operation, can be exciting as regulatory pressure mounts to sell more EVs.

Ford's Fastest Electric Car 😮 Mustang Mach E GT🐎 But it's still slower than: Tesla Model 3 Performance Polestar 3 Kia EV6 Why Ford ditched their hatchback platform is beyond me... Imagine a Focus "ERS" and what it could of been, it certainly would of upset the likes of Mercedes, Audi and Hyundai in the Hatchback game.🎮 Stats for the GT - Bronze 🥉 420 ps ⚡ 634 ft-lb 🐎 4.4 0-62 s (which is now only the same as a 5.0 V8) Don't get me wrong I am here for the future of electric cars, but let's not waste precious materials on sub-par performance cars.
