Continuing Education (CE) units play a key roll in helping universities respond to the rapidly evolving educational and lifelong learning needs of the 21st century. Follow CAUCE to keep up with the latest information, trends and innovations.
Meet Christie Schultz, Dean of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina, and a valued CAUCE Executive Committee member. Christie recognizes that Continuing Education is incredibly responsive to the needs of its regions by connecting with employers, industries, and individuals. Her advice for other CE executives? "Connect, collaborate, and work across silos, both within your university and the broader community. And, of course, involvement in #CAUCE is a wonderful way to learn from others working within similar contexts." A great way to implement Christie's advice is to join our upcoming #CAUCEconference in May. Details here: https://lnkd.in/gjfydDi

Empowering business leaders to align their wealth with meaningful philanthropy, creating lasting impact, personal legacies and new philanthropists now
I'll never get tired of saying how much Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) has added to both my professional practice as an advisor as well as my personal mission as a philanthropist and yesterday's "For the Love of Gift Planning" workshop was no different. Great to catch up with colleagues and meet new connections, as well as hear from guest speakers - here's a few things I learned: Malcolm Burrows is not just plugged into the trends in gift planning like nobody I've ever met, but he also makes a mean Powerpoint deck complete with fine art on every slide. I thought I'd be learning about the crossroads we find ourselves in as an industry, left also with a little bit of art history knowledge. Susan Manwaring hates the terms "in perpetuity" and "endowment" and I now know why. Left her session with a new understanding of the importance of gifting agreements, what can go wrong, and ideally how to get out ahead of those issues. Janine Kuzma BA, CFRE and St. Joe's are doing fantastic work with their professional advisory network and I think that model can be replicated for many #charities especially in the #artsandculture sector to help donors be more strategic in their giving. Michelle Osborne, CFRE and Melissa Pang broke down some of the learnings they had from their digital advertising campaign. Apparently the more emotional-based images don't work as well as the practical ones... good to know. Kimberley Blease kept us from the pub... just kidding. Fantastic research, as always, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the inclination of donors to prioritize arts and culture as recipients of gifts in their wills. Lot of takeaways on that. #conference #cagp #philanthropy #giftplanning #learningeveryday
Philanthropy professional with close to 30 years of proven success in donor relations and constituent engagement.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the outstanding CAGP Greater Toronto Area Chapter Professional Development day, "For the Love of Gift Planning." The wealth of knowledge shared by each speaker made it an incredible experience. I am inspired to apply the invaluable knowledge gained at Kingsway College School! Florida A&M University is one of the valuable economic engines in our community, generating substantial economic returns year after year. The benefits flow to Florida A&M University’s graduates, who’ll enter the workforce with sharper skills and vastly enhanced earning prospects. But, as a landmark study commissioned by UNCF—HBCUs Make America Strong: The Positive Economic Impact of Historically Black Colleges and Universities—makes clear, the benefits also flow to the local and regional economies that are connected to Florida A&M University. The presence of an HBCU means a boost to economic activity, on and off—and even well beyond—campus. Stronger growth. Stronger communities. More jobs. And a more talented workforce. How is it that Collegiate Recovery Programs and Communities are thriving at HBCUs with Black & Brown students in recovery and Black and Brown allies but our PWI communities are still homogeneously white males with only few exceptions? While I know the answer to the question, I don’t yet have a solution.
