This week, a group of 50+ HR executives and changemakers assembled for the inaugural Human Future of Work event, hosted by a powerhouse lineup of leaders including Hitendra Wadhwa, Rita McGrath, Keith Ferrazzi, Frank Congiu and Moses Berkowitz. The purpose of our gathering was to harness the collective wisdom, passion and purpose of some of the world’s leading executives and thought leaders towards creating a better future of work for all. We started the day by connecting as humans through purposeful bond building exercises, including by talking about our own personal and professional struggles — through simple but meaningful prompts, e.g., “what’s really going on for you?”. For the next several hours, we explored the most important shifts in how people in organizations will lead, perform, connect, grow and engage to maximize positive impact — both organizationally and individually — and in turn, societally. We closed by making a commitment to honor our platforms as influencers by taking an active role in driving this change, both within our organizations and beyond — including by forming interdisciplinary working groups to ideate, research and accelerate change for the better. I’ll close with a question posed early in the day: We are at a pivotal moment in human history. As leaders, what do we want our role to be in defining what this chapter in the history books will be called? A big thank you to the teams at Emeritus and Randstad for making this day possible.
