Last week, we welcomed our newest party chief, R. Leo E.! We asked some questions to learn more about him: Q: What’s your favorite thing about your profession? A: Growing up in the industry, I fell into land surveying by my dad who taught me the ropes since I was 15. Since then, the challenges of solving puzzles by putting a map together from measurements obtained simply or otherwise has always been the main form of engagement for me.    Q: What excites you most about your new position? A: This new position is a launching pad to my evolving journey towards being a Professional Land Surveyor. It creates new doors to a variety of methods, with enhanced equipment, and structured operations in surveying that I’m glad to be a part of. It recognizes accolades and rewards hard work and discipline, as a land surveyor as well as a person. What’s exciting are the opportunities to work closely with seasoned professionals and experts in their field to whom I’m excited to learn from.     Q: What drew you to F&A? A: F&A has the resources and tools for progressive excellence.  Everyone’s contribution matters and seeing the communication amongst everyone at this level is very encouraging. Q: If you weren’t in this field for a living, what would you be doing? A: Honestly, I’d travel and be a food blogger. I can eat, and… I can appreciate food as art as well as a journey to other cultures.    Q: Favorite ice cream flavor? A: Ube. I’m Filipino so coming from a place where ice in general was hard to come by growing up, having ice cream was a treat.    Q: Describe your dream day off. A: Quiet family time. Kids off their electronics, something smelling good cooking, a really nice jazz vinyl playing, and my lab actually chillin in one spot. Fire on, hot cocoa, and sorting some trading cards. Seems therapeutic to always be doing some organizing.        Q: What’s your hidden talent? A: I can beatbox.
