Cascade's Anne Clawson and Melis Tusiray joined the old girls club yesterday to talk about how companies can position in the lead-up to the election. A few of our recommendations: ✅ Secure bipartisan support for your priorities. Always good to have, and even more important in this heated environment. ✅ Be deliberate about wading into culturally charged topics. In a world where so many companies are accidentally provoking controversy, you can choose to stay above the fray! ✅ But be guided by your values. If you're a values-driven organization, sometimes that will lead you into a charged debate. By preparing, you can stand up for what you believe in and still take the high road. The participants really made the event great, with active discussion and dialogue. Its already been a journey and it's only really the start but still very proud to be a Blueprint Ally. This isn't just about doing the right thing (although that's important) - we can't offer the best advice and campaign work to clients if we don't have proper representation of the people we're trying to engage with outside and inside their organisations. Data is great but without lived experience on our teams how can we even try to connect with the many different communities outside of our PowerPoints, meeting rooms and office walls? We've got a long way to go but it means a lot to be in an agency that's committed to progress on diversity, on inclusivity and on equity even when it takes extra effort to make the incremental change we need.
