Thursday Thoughts: When your child comes out as transgender, they aren't the only ones who change. Your family configuration changes, and even if you don't realize it right away, you will change, as a parent. Becoming the parent of a transgender child opens your eyes to injustices that you may not have been previously aware of. And once you are aware of these injustices and how they impact your child, you won't be able to ignore them. It's one thing to say you are an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. It's another thing to be one. Having a transgender child moves you from a place of saying to a place of being.

As professionals and allies, it's crucial that we recognize and embrace the diverse tapestry of humanity that makes our global workplace vibrant and strong. In the workplace, diversity isn't just about ethnicity, gender, or age; it also encompasses sexual orientation and gender identity. It's about creating a space where every individual feels safe, valued, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Coming out can be a deeply personal and sometimes challenging journey.
