In these past 4 months I have enjoyed leading the launch of two successful campaigns, with the purpose of advancing meaningful engagement with Google Play users: our first influencer/celebrity activation for Google Play Points with football legend Drew Brees (#MakeDrewLaugh) and amplifying our annual Google Play Best of campaign on social media. Managing both of these campaigns simultaneously was a labor of love. Between being responsive to the team’s needs and maneuvering through many moments of trial and error, I have been reminded that there is no better feeling than putting your all into something and watching it come out successfully. Both of these campaigns wouldn't have been possible without the support from Portal A, Orchid Creation, Jackie Lau, Daniel Ferguson, and so many more! This marketing move hits the bullseye. I'm sure you've seen Target's Circle Week campaign starring the brilliantly hilarious Kristen Wiig, who reprised her role as SNL's "Target Lady". It's genius! Aside from choosing to partner with one of today's funniest female comedians, Target's campaign hits the bullseye for a few reasons. Let's unpack it: 1. It Gives A Face to The Brand. Having a face for your brand brings relatability and trust. Simply put, it brings a human touch, and there's no better way to connect with your audience! The good news: you don't need someone as recognizable as Kristen Wiig to pull it off. 2. It's Full of Personality. Just as you have a unique personality, brands with a personality of their own are often most successful. It all goes back to that human touch again! In this case, Target leaned on what Kristen Wiig does best... humor. 3. It's Hilarious. Speaking of humor... it's one of the best ways to connect with your audience! But as I've mentioned before, it has to be done right! With Kristen Wiig in the mix, the humor hits 10/10 (at least in my opinion it does... I LOVE her!).
