While studying the layout and painting performance in web browsers, I wondered if there is any difference in performance between using Flexbox and Grid. I did some research and stumbled upon a thread on this topic written by Josh W. Comeau. As it turns out, there is a minor performance gain with Flexbox. It’s not significant, and it doesn't mean you shouldn’t use Grid, but it can cause problems, especially with complex layouts and nested grids. Should I be worried about it? Absolutely not. It is not a significant concern for most applications, and browsers have improved a lot since Josh published that tweet. However, double-check and ensure everything is in order when working on a complex grid layout. The yellow circle only shows in the video, and there is a small delay when testing in Chrome and Brave, Firefox seems to have no issue. Furthermore, their placement may vary depending on the browser, with some having them at the top and others at the bottom. And here 𝚍𝚟𝚑, 𝚕𝚟𝚑, 𝚜𝚟𝚑 units would shine. The latest update of the A11y Quick Check extension to version 2501.2024.03.01, introduces enhanced features for analyzing a scalar vector graphic (svg) accessible name. The tool checks for svgs named using 'aria-labelledby', 'aria-label', '<title>', '<text>', and the title attribute. When multiple naming methods are detected, the extension employs the Accessible Name Calculation to determine the accName. New warnings are generated if an svg utilizes a naming method with limited support across different browsers and screen readers, and when two naming methods could potentially overlap, such as 'aria-label' and '<title>', which may lead to confusion for screen reader users. Sticky columns are one of my FAVORITE ways to jazz up a site. People are going to think you paid a developer thousands of dollars to create this look, but nope!
