Aireon is participating in the 28th ICAO Asia Pacific Sub-Group, taking place in ICAO APAC Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 1-5. At this Sub-Group, Diego Albert 迪亚哥, Director of APAC Sales at Aireon, presented a Working Paper (WP) about the challenges that GNSS Interferences affecting aviation and what technologies are available to monitor, analysis and mitigate events such as spoofing and jamming. On 10 August 2023, ADS-B became mandatory in Canadian Class A airspace – that’s everything above FL180. It was the first phase of a progressive rollout, thanks to space-based technology. Class B will follow on 16 May 2024, while the other classes are slated for 2026. A new AIC has been published with all the info, which you can find here. The key points are summarized below.

Implementation of RVSM in China Effective from 1600 UTC on November 21, 2007, China implemented metric RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum) in the Shenyang, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Wuhan, Lanzhou, Urumqi FIRs (Flight Information Regions), and Sector 01 of the Sanya Control Area (island airspace) for airspace between 8,900 meters (FL291) and 12,500 meters (FL411). In this airspace, each flight level is separated by 300 meters. In the aforementioned FIRs, airspace from 8,900 meters (FL291) to 12,500 meters (FL411) is defined as RVSM airspace. China's RVSM airspace is designated exclusively for RVSM-compliant aircraft, meaning that non-RVSM-compliant aircraft are not permitted to fly within the RVSM airspace between 8,900 meters (FL291) and 12,500 meters (FL411), inclusive.

Trajectory Based Operations (#TBO) is a global concept that aims to improve the efficiency and safety of #AirTrafficManagement by sharing and using four-dimensional trajectories. TBO enables Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) among all the #ATM stakeholders (including aircraft) with the aim of optimizing flows, increasing Capacity/Demand balancing and network predictability, while reducing delays and emissions. The full achievement of TBO is a complex endeavour involving most of the ATM players through a synchronised, progressive and homogenous deployment of new procedures supported by innovative technologies, systems and standards. A key enabler of TBO is #SWIM (System-Wide Information Management), a technology developed in #Leonardo designed to support a secure, flexible, interoperable and service-oriented sharing of ATM system information: airport operational status, weather information, flight data, and airspace status. SWIM technology has several concrete applications in TBO such as: air/ground data exchange, civil military coordination and Flight & Flow Information for Collaborative Environment (FF-ICE) processes. Seamless information sharing is the key driver towards a more predictable, efficient and sustainable ATM. Want to learn more? Raises a few questions : (Quote from Nasdaq) "The FCC Earth station in motion (ESIM) regulatory license grants Gogo the authority to commercialize and operate the terminals, which are integral to its Gogo Galileo low Earth orbit (LEO) global broadband service, on US-registered aircraft, and those registered in other countries within U.S. territory including territorial waters.* " 1. Wouldnt you actually ensure the provision is feesable before marketing the product ? 2. Would the operator (OW) (not the reseller, Gogo) also have a preliminary role on feesability on permissable use ? 3. Only on US aircraft ? in US territory ? wasnt the concept global ?

👩🚀Last week, our COO Jonas Radtke participated in the kick-off of #ECHO2 at the EUROCONTROL HQ in Brussels. Back in July, Phase 1 of ECHO delivered a #CONOPS for Higher Airspace Operations Concept of Operations.🚀 The goal of ECHO2, is to consolidate Higher Airspace Operations into the European Air Traffic Management system while evaluating Regulations and Standards. #OKAPIOrbits contributes to ECHO2 by providing interfaces for the Air Traffic and Space Traffic Management integration and participating in the demonstration and validation of these activities. Concepts of Operations pave the way for forging resilient frameworks, it’s great to see so many different stakeholders participating in this effort. ✌️ #HAO #Europeanaviation #STM

🎺 We’ve conducted many PAPI calibrations at big international airports, but this one is special because it’s for a small airfield. Airotec DeFI is now entering the General Aviation Sector, addressing challenges faced by airfields that cannot afford calibration services 💸 or face distance limitations 🏝 🌎 Case: 1) Airfield: Lubin (EPLU) 2) Facility Operator: Aero Club ZM Association 3) Inspection type: Periodic 4) Facility inspected: PAPI, TWY A-B, RWY ALS 5) Time operation: PAPI-> 4 min !!! ; TWY A-B->10 min ; RWY ALS-> 12 min 6) Flight Inspection System: AIROTEC DeFI #FlightInspectionSystems #UnmannedSystems #GroundInspection #airport #lotniska #lotnictwo #airotecdefi
