Unfortunately this new feature is not completely honest with guests. We know of properties in the same location, offering half the facilities, with lower ratings, and less 5 star reviews than other properties and yet they are listed as ‘Top 10%’ while higher rated listings get no recognition at all in this new feature. Airbnb support services confirmed these missed listings actually qualify as top 1%. Airbnb originally said the properties were not recognised due to the fact none of the reviews included the phase ‘a great place to stay’ so after looking through over 200 5 star reviews the exact phase written by guests was found several times. I then questioned this with customer support and they back tracked and said there was no reason for the lack of recognition with top 1% stats. Many hosts have noticed this and others who list multiple properties have lower rated properties recognised as top 10% over better rated listings that don’t make it. Perhaps this new feature is more of a marketing strategy to raise the profile of less booked listings at the expense of the more popular, higher quality properties?

I wish AirBnB modeled their values in everything they do. My family was put in harms way due to gaps in the company’s policies and procedures. The company has not tried to make that right. I requested a call from leadership and I have not received that call yet. I’m all for any company thriving and having sustainability, but it would be because they are a responsible company that values growing their bottom line while safeguarding their customers. A company that’s trying to grow at the expense on customers is not a safe company. Airbnb is going downhill since we started using it 9 years ago. Just today we spent 5 hours dealing with Airbnb support team which is completely useless and incompetent because the place we rented for 7 days had a wrong location pin on Airbnb and now we are stuck here with an angry host. To what Airbnb said there is nothing they can do. This company is truly getting worse with each day and after numerous rentals over 9 years we are considering other platforms that are honest with their guests and not deceitful like airbnb. Such a shame.

I need assistance please with an issue regarding my reservation. It was canceled without my permission by one of your agents, and I am not being offered a full refund according as he said its according to the cancellation policy. But I did not cancel the reservation, and your agent confirmed that he canceled it. I would be fine with the cancellation if I will receive a full refund, but the agent is now unresponsive with my messages. It is unacceptable that your agent made this decision without my consent and is not willing to provide a full refund. Please help resolve this matter

Ratings are unfortunately too easily manipulated 😕 I would like to bring to your attention a serious issue regarding my recent stay at [Capital Link/London from 5th to 7th July] with booking reference number [HM482SA59W]. After leaving a truthful review of the place : (https://www.airbnb.com/slink/bmpfxUcC) based on my experience, the host has made false accusations, claiming that I brought additional guests to the property, which is entirely untrue. As a result, my review was unjustly removed. How can you do that based on an -upset- host's feedback obviously because he didnt like my comment without verifying? I believe it is crucial for the integrity of the Airbnb platform that honest reviews are preserved and false claims are addressed appropriately. I respectfully ask for the reinstatement of my review and a fair resolution to this issue. As a loyal customer and host in Airbnb for 10 years now I am very much looking forward to your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Anki Lam

Be careful with Airbnb!!!! You book a place crawling with bedbugs and have to book a different hotel and @airbnb bows down to the owner and only refunds $300 of the $600+ that was lost. This is AFTER Airbnb saw the video of the bugs crawling all over and called the situation unacceptable. I sent the CEO @bchesky a message on LinkedIn, no response, and have since been railroaded by support. Feel free to DM for the video and tell me you would have stayed too. Go with VRBO y’all and don’t risk your money to a company worth billions but won’t suck it up and do the right thing for their customers..
