Proud of our parental leave policy at Airbnb. Supports both the birthing and non-birthing parents.

Alexis Ohanian Sr. great interview and content. I do have another question for you though....what is your opinion on the relevance of abuse on a corporate image. Do you believe that Airbnb should be able to sweep their abuses and racism under the rug in exchange for donations to charity? Lastly how much do you think that abuse and racism should matter to Airbnb? Should consumers ignore Airbnb's history of unethical business practices both towards hosts and guests, or should they consider more ethical companies such as Expedia Group or Booking.com instead? A large quantity of listings are available on all 3....perhaps the consumer should go to one of them if they are concerned with ethical spending. What's your take on ethical spending, especially considering known abusers such as Airbnb? Nathan Blecharczyk, I'm open to your opinion as well here. Feel free to share your opinion on my questions too. :-)

I need assistance please with an issue regarding my reservation. It was canceled without my permission by one of your agents, and I am not being offered a full refund according as he said its according to the cancellation policy. But I did not cancel the reservation, and your agent confirmed that he canceled it. I would be fine with the cancellation if I will receive a full refund, but the agent is now unresponsive with my messages. It is unacceptable that your agent made this decision without my consent and is not willing to provide a full refund. Please help resolve this matter

Looking to get in contact with Airbnb’s legal department. I’ve been denied to referral fees that should be paid based on your website and terms of use. I’ve been told by your customer service 80000000 different things. The last person I spoke too TODAY (I’ve been working on this for 2 months) said the terms on your website are not up to date and the engineering team is working on changing that. And that even though what you have listed to the public WOULD INFACT entitle me to the referral fees…they aren’t up to date. Oh and can’t he provided at this time. 😂😬 for a billion dollar company you don’t mind screwing the little guy!

I wish AirBnB modeled their values in everything they do. My family was put in harms way due to gaps in the company’s policies and procedures. The company has not tried to make that right. I requested a call from leadership and I have not received that call yet. I’m all for any company thriving and having sustainability, but it would be because they are a responsible company that values growing their bottom line while safeguarding their customers. A company that’s trying to grow at the expense on customers is not a safe company. This experience and how AirBnB has handled it has been truly disappointing. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/SxdGWu2Av9vzshhS/?mibextid=WC7FNe

Be careful with Airbnb!!!! You book a place crawling with bedbugs and have to book a different hotel and @airbnb bows down to the owner and only refunds $300 of the $600+ that was lost. This is AFTER Airbnb saw the video of the bugs crawling all over and called the situation unacceptable. I sent the CEO @bchesky a message on LinkedIn, no response, and have since been railroaded by support. Feel free to DM for the video and tell me you would have stayed too. Go with VRBO y’all and don’t risk your money to a company worth billions but won’t suck it up and do the right thing for their customers..

I recently had a terrible experience with an Airbnb booking. We arrived at a home for the Fourth of July weekend, only to find it occupied by squatters who blocked us in the driveway. According to the neighbors, this has been ongoing for a year. The host was unreachable, and we were left stranded with our holiday plans ruined. Our travel expenses for 11 people totaled $1,800, yet Airbnb only offered us $300 in compensation. Their customer service was unhelpful and unprofessional, refusing to take ownership of the situation. Despite reaching out multiple times, I have not received a call from the appropriate level of leadership regarding this issue. I have a lot of questions about Airbnb's preventative measures and proactive management to prevent such situations. But most importantly, why would you not try to do right by your customers? Has anyone else experienced such poor handling of issues by Airbnb? This has been incredibly disappointing, and I'm reconsidering using their platform again. #AirbnbFail #CustomerService #Disappointed #NeverAgain https://www.facebook.com/share/Y6PvgMD9pnQX4NXc/?mibextid=WC7FNe

Thank you Airbnb for sharing this insightful discussion between Nathan Blecharczyk and Alexis Ohanian Sr. on the importance of paid family leave. It's inspiring to see how becoming a dad has impacted Nathan's approach to work. Paid family leave is essential for fostering a supportive work environment and enabling parents to balance their professional and personal lives effectively. What are some ways companies can further support their employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance?

Well said! We can’t agree more
