Just caught wind of some of the incredible plans for Boomtown 2024, across theatre, art, music, tech innovation and sustainability.
Always in awe of the boundless imagination and passion infused into every aspect…
I often receive LinkedIn messages from event organisers across the world, highlighting how Boomtown has inspired their festivals - I truly believe its one of the world's most creative organisations, fueled by a team that wholeheartedly loves what they do…
I want to touch on risk vs reward though; Last year's festival cost close to £20 million to organise, after selling every single ticket, and after all food, drink, and 101 other things were put into the mix the festival sat with a profit of less than £100k. It’s not always that close to the bone but it shows what risk is often involved to build something so unique.
The team consistently channels energy into values like respect, care, and joy, prioritizing these over financial gains and rejecting major sponsor offers misaligned with the company principles—an approach that adds even more pressure.
But risk is the crucible where big things happen; the greater the risk, the greater the reward, and hearing audience stories, seeing the art creations, the latest sustainability reports, the birth of new music and just the joy it all brings, is testament to that.
In the coming month, individual district themes start to unfold, each narrating brilliant and unique stories addressing real-world issues and inspiring solutions. Boomtown's massive network of incredible individuals makes this wonder possible—
Onwards to Summer - 😊💫
