I totally agree with this. Simply applying tropes like the use of celebrities and inclusivity in casting does not make for an amazing ad. Impactful, authentic storytelling that connects with the audience is the key. And you know what? 2 things I learned after watching all 50+ #SuperBowlLVIII commercials: ➡️ Brands, who spend millions and millions dollars on this spot, seem to think that inserting a #celebrity into an ad makes up for generic #storytelling. It does not. ➡️ #InclusiveAdvertising and #InclusiveStorytelling is no longer a top priority for most brands (as it was immediately post 2020), with the exception of Google and the National Football League (NFL) who had easily the most stand-out commercials of the day.
