🌟 Promoting equity in climate action: Our new guide is out! 📚 As climate change continues to impact communities around the world, it's crucial to recognise that its effects are unequally felt. Municipalities play a pivotal role in developing and implementing climate strategies that prioritise vulnerable groups. Equity is an operational principle that should permeate all aspects of municipal governance. By integrating equity in their climate planning, municipalities can ensure that: ➡ Everyone receives equal attention and respect, rooted in the principles of climate justice. Climate justice guarantees equal protection for all, regardless of race, income, or origin, against environmental hazards and unequal access to environmental policies. Inversely, sidelining equity in climate planning can have many negative consequences: ➡ Inequity erodes trust, disrupts communities, and hampers institutions.
