Following the theme of lack of #aapi representation at the leadership level in academic medicine: though 1 in 5 physicians identify as #aapi, only 9% of female department chairs and 11% of male department chairs are Asian American, according to Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). In this JAMA commentary, Drs. M.K. Choi and Anil K. Rustgi argue that chronic barriers in #careeradvancement can translate into less #diversity and fewer #mentors for Asian American students. "Asian American people generally face chronic and systemic challenges, the authors note. Even as many medical centers and organizations have been renewing their commitments to anti-racism and equity, Asian and Asian American people have been largely overlooked," they write. #representationmatters #mentoringmatters #stopasianhate #healthequity https://lnkd.in/gk5ypdDn

In 2024, the landscape of osteopathic medicine has never been more challenging for DO graduates. With growing class sizes, a surplus of DO grads now find themselves competing for a relatively fixed number of residency spots. The narrower scope of opportunities for these candidates also shine clear with an average rank order list of 5.78. This competitive bottleneck underscores the necessity for strategic guidance and expert support in the residency process. Daunted by the task of navigating residency placement alone? Let Residents Medical step in at this critical juncture. As the field of osteopathic medicine grows, so does the complexity of the match process. Rise to the challenge with our team by your side! Book an evaluation today! #residencyplacement #DO #osteopathicmedicine #DOgrad

NEW PAPER 📜 Delighted to share our latest research findings on impostor syndrome (IS) among medical students in Slovenia. Key findings reveal a significant presence of IS, particularly among women. Surprisingly, factors such as age, year of study, and prior clinical experience showed no correlation with IS levels. This indicates that impostor syndrome can affect medical students at any stage of their education, regardless of their experience or academic progression. https://lnkd.in/dGm3CPSm
