I help medical students and early career physicians get what they want in their personal and professional lives.
How to become a physician: Old way -graduate medical school -complete internship -pass a licensure exam -build your practice through ER call and earning the trust of patients -serve as a pillar of your community New way -graduate medical school -pass licensure exam sequence -complete internship/residency/fellowship -pass board certification exam -sign an employment contract as a replaceable commodity saddled with >$400k in debt Extra regulatory hoops and feeling valued less for service are very real emotions of the current generation of physicians. #innovation #bureaucracy #burnout #poordocs #healthcare

Helping you to maintain good oral health|| your trusted oral health expert|| oral health educator|| oral health matters
#knowyourdentist 5 I can say loudly that the best year of dental college is the internship period! (you might disagree!) Let me tell you why⬇️ ✅ you are confident enough to deal with real patients😎 ✅ you are equipped with all the knowledge needed😇 ✅ no more studies or exams (except the entrance exam for PG, if you wish for MDS)😄 ✅ finally you get a stipend (in government colleges only, mine was a government one)😍 ✅ teachers become friendly and guide you to every step😉 ✅ you are among the senior-most students in the college💪 But as they say, with freedom comes the responsibility: ▶️ you can't make mistakes as your patients are real humans🤭 ▶️ your juniors are watching you, be careful🫡 ▶️ teachers trust you now, behave responsibly🙏 ▶️ this will be the last year with your favourite people and college🥹 ▶️ finally stepping out of student life and surviving in the actual world😱 Nothing in life is permanent, everything good or bad has to come to an end! My advice: Live and enjoy every moment of college life, Kya pta phir se college (if only opt for MDS) jaane ka mauka mile na mile😜 PS: Should I make part 2 of series #knowyourdentist about the PG degree life in different dental specialities? Your honest feedback will guide me in shaping my future posts! Do comment. Do follow Dr. Pooja Siwach for daily insights on oral health! #internshiplife #bestyearofcollege #enjoystudentlife Pic credit: redbubble

New Original Research article in RRH: Outcomes of rural generalist internship training in Victoria, Australia by Belinda O'Sullivan, Shane Boyer, Angela Stratton, Matthew McGrail, Jacque Phillips and Julie Faoro. This paper describes the outcomes of a decade-long Rural Community Internship Training (RCIT) Program in Victoria, Australia. The program comprises a year of internship training delivered in smaller rural communities, including up to 20 weeks’ general practice experience working with qualified rural generalist doctors and visiting specialists, along with 8–10-week terms in emergency, general medicine and surgery in nearby larger regional hospitals. Results suggest that up to 9 years post training, 61% of interns pursue General Practice, 40% currently work in the same region and 97% work at extended scope. https://lnkd.in/gTaEuqqS #ruralhealth #remotehealth #ruraldoctors #ruralgeneralists #generalpractice Monash University VRGP - Victorian Rural Generalist Program The University of Queensland Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria Inc. 🎓 Exciting Milestone: Completing my Field Internship and Submitting the Final Report! 📚 I'm thrilled to share that my journey as an intern in the Field Internship in Local Public Policy has come to a rewarding conclusion! Over the past few months, I had the opportunity to delve into an intriguing research project titled "The Influence of Free Services at The Oulmes' Community Dental Medicine Centre on Citizen Engagement in Regular Check-ups and Oral Health Behaviors: A Qualitative Method Investigation." 🔍 During this internship, I conducted in-depth qualitative research, aiming to shed light on the impact of cost-free services offered at the C.D.M.C on citizen engagement in regular dental check-ups and oral health behaviors. 🦷💭 I'm elated to share some of the key findings from my research: 🔑 Three Key Motivations for Visiting the C.D.M.C: free cost services, quality care, and convenient proximity. The order of these motivations varies depending on the socio-economic profiles of the individuals. 💼 Shifting from Informal to Professional Dental Care: An essential effect of the C.D.M.C is its role in transforming the population's dental care-seeking behavior. The availability of this center encourages individuals to opt for professional dental care instead of seeking informal practitioners, such as the tooth snatcher or "dental mechanics." 🌟 Positive Influence on Check-up Behaviors: None of the interviewees were accustomed to regular dental check-ups. Dental care was primarily sought reactively, driven by immediate dental problems and financial limitations associated with frequent check-ups. The cost-free services motivated people to have regular check-ups for preventive dental care. 😁 Positive Impact on Oral Hygiene Behaviors: The C.D.M.C has the potential to positively influence patients' oral hygiene behaviors over time. As patients become more familiar with the center and receive continuous dental care, we observed a noticeable positive shift in their attitudes toward oral health practices. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Zineb Benalla, my dedicated internship supervisor, for her constant guidance throughout this project. Additionally, I want to express my deep appreciation to the entire SCALES team for their efforts and assistance during my internship. #FieldInternship #DentalMedicine #PublicHealth #Research #InternshipCompletion #PublicPolicy #BehavioralScience

Therapy is not an easy process. The main idea of therapy is to aid the client, develop insight and help them attain desirable goals. Sometimes what people need is just a little bit of motivation but occasionally there are patients who have deep rooted problems. Such people have layers of problems and for an effective solution the therapist needs to go through each layer. #psychologyinternship #ecelecticpsychotherapy @icharsonline
