It’s Veterans Day in the United States. There are so many vets in my family, and I’m grateful for their and every veteran’s service!! My dad, step-dad, brother, and two grandfathers all served this country. I’m grateful for the privilege of having never had war in my backyard in my lifetime, and I am aware of people who are experiencing a different reality right now. Today, I also think about my dad who was disabled by wartime PTSD, and here’s what it brings up: 1. Advocating for veteran and dependent benefits is the least we can do for people who risk their lives in the name of the USA. 2. In our professional day-to-day, we can listen to and consider the unique needs of veterans and their families—not just in terms of workplace inclusion but also in terms of products and services. 3. On that last note… ethics matter. Some of you—especially my LinkedIn crew—know my personal story with the loss of my dad to addiction. Needless to say, if some big pharma companies had been more ethical and less focused on profit at any cost, I wonder how my dad’s story might have turned out differently. What do you need to speak up about today to stop your company from being the next Purdue Pharma or similar? May you experience deep reflection and gratitude on this important day.

I have two friends who lost relatives (Black males) in their mid-twenties to suicide within two hours of each other in two separate states, and they didn't know each other. We have experienced a severe spike in Black male suicide over the last 6-8 years (49 percent) between ages 14 and 24 (JAMA Study). If we compare today's numbers to that of 1991, there is a 73 percent increase. Whether we want to admit it or not, we have a problem. And telling our young men to man up won't fix it. I have been sounding the clarion for years. We have a problem. Some highlights from chasing your dream part 2.But first a big thank you to Central well senior Primary Care of Greer and there community engagement professional.Carime Zurita Puente.Who made it possible. A few months earlier we presented chasing your dream part 1. we were asked to come back to present part 2. the room was full and I was excited to see how many put into action the message from part1 I actually called them my gifted class as I listened to how many gave birth to their dreams over the last couple of months it was outstanding . These take charge seniors were ready for part 2. I made it very clear that I was going to expose. and introduce them to dream vampires. who's only job is to suck the enthusiasm and energy out of your dream and leave it lifeless. these vampires are not Shadows they do exist. Now it's time to introduce you and give you their names. vampire 1 Shoulda / vampire 2 Coulda / vampire 3 woulda. these guys have been trained very well by their parents. their father's name is procrastination. the mother's name is condemnation. their job is very obvious. to stop you from dreaming. let's take your health as an example. you actually know that the healthcare model that you're under is not for you any longer. you should be in a senior care program like Center well. but Shoulda showed up and stopped you. then Coulda took over and procrastination came into play as Woulda and his father shows up with condemnation for your decisions. and the dream dies. has any of you experienced these vampires? yes we all have. # put life back in that dream.

Lessons I learned from the movie "it's a wonderful life" "It's a Wonderful Life" is a classic movie from 1946 that tells the story of George Bailey, a man who becomes despondent and contemplates suicide on Christmas Eve. An angel named Clarence intervenes and shows George what life would have been like if he had never been born. Here are ten major lessons I learned from the film: 1. Every life is important: George Bailey learns that even though he may not feel like he has made a difference, his life has had a significant impact on those around him. 2. Appreciate what you have: George Bailey's struggles make him appreciate the good things in his life, like his family and friends, more than ever before. 3. Money isn't everything: The film shows that happiness and success are not solely dependent on financial wealth. 4. Family is important: George Bailey's love for his family is what keeps him going, even when things are tough. 5. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference: George Bailey's selfless acts of kindness towards others throughout his life have had a ripple effect and touched many people's lives. 6. Be grateful for your blessings: The film encourages us to be grateful for what we have and to recognize the blessings in our lives. 7. Life is precious: The film reminds us that life is a gift, and it's important to cherish every moment. 8. Don't give up: George Bailey learns that it's important to keep fighting, even when things seem hopeless. 9. Your actions matter: The film shows that every decision we make can have a significant impact on the people around us. 10. We are all connected: The film highlights the interconnectedness of all people, and how one person's actions can have a ripple effect on many others. It is a heartwarming film that teaches us to appreciate the people and things we have in our lives, to be kind to others, and to never give up hope. I highly recommend you watch it. #LifeIsWonderful

What can we do when we are struggling?  Social Connection & Health ! Positive Emotions build physical health through the perception of positive social connections. When people experience positive emotions, their perceptions of social connections increase, which increases regulation of the autonomic nervous system (vagal tone).
