- [Instructor] You may occasionally discover that you have difficulty joining a Windows 11 machine to an active directory domain. There are a few different reasons why this can happen, so I want to walk through the troubleshooting process with you. The first thing that you need to know is that Microsoft has changed the way that you join an active directory domain. So let's take a look at what this process looks like. What I'm going to do is right click on the start button, then I'll click on System, Domain or Work Group, and then Network ID. So now we're taken to a wizard that walks us through the process of joining an active directory domain. And this wizard works a little bit differently from the way that Microsoft has always done things in the past. The first thing that we have to do is select the option that describes our network.
