- [Instructor] The map layouts Tableau provides give you everything you need to know about the standard geographic levels, continents, countries, states, cities, and so on. What it doesn't and really can't do is come up with territories and regions specific to your business. In this movie I will show you how to define custom regions in your map. My sample file is 1105 custom regions, and you can find it in the chapter 11 folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook, I have a map that shows customers to whom I have made sales in the DC area. So I have the District of Columbia here. And then I'm including all the customers that are currently shown on the map as being in the DC area. Let's say that I want to identify them as a group so they stand out on the map.
