- When thinking about an entry level path into DevOps, the reality is there is a ton to learn. The good news is that an entry level higher doesn't have any bad habits or patterns to unlearn. When trying to break into DevOps from an entry level position, such as attending a bootcamp, graduating from college or simply making a career change, focused first on building three core skills. Number one, proficiency in one programming language, such as Python. Two, the ability to administer one operating system, and unless you love the Windows platform, just choose Linux. And number three, knowledge of one cloud computing platform. For example, Amazon web services or AWS for short.
