- K-Nosh is a national gourmet dog food company. They sell thousands of bags of dog food each day. They sell 8, 20, and 40 pound bags, but the 20 pound bag is by far their most popular size. K-Nosh has high-end customers. They demand outstanding products and excellent service. Customers expect at least 20 pounds of dog food in every 20 pound bag, so while the bag is labeled as 20 pounds, K-Nosh sets the desired weight of each bag at 20.15 pounds. They hope that this will ensure each bag has at least 20 pounds of dog food. Out of the 5,000 bags they produce daily, K-Nosh pulls a random sample of 100 bags. Based on the 100 bag sample, they will either send out the entire shipment of 5,000 bags or they will reject the entire shipment of 5,000 bags. This sounds like a job for hypothesis testing.
