- As you make progress in the Green Belt training, you'll want to be sure to practice good project management basics. Let's talk about some ways you can do this. My first tip is to send the right message and plan to succeed. At the start of every project, ensure the project champion launches the projects. This sends the right message from management, one of commitment and support. Next, you need to communicate the project charter at launch and throughout the project. The project charter describes the reason for the project, what must be accomplished by when, scope of the project, who's to be involved, and milestone dates. Then you need to develop the project plan with details, the tasks, deliverables, timing, effort, and resources required.
