- [Instructor] This video is going to be part one of a two-part explanation of the View Range feature. So View Range is how we determine what we're going to see in floor plans as a rule. So there are a variety of settings in the View Range dialogue, and the one we're going to focus on in this video is the cut plane. So the cut plane is probably the most important setting of View Range. So a floor plan is really just a horizontal cut through the building. So if you imagined a building and you're slicing it at a certain location, you're going to get this nice bold line at that slice. And then elements that are off in the distance are usually going to appear a little bit lighter, like these windowsills here. But when you think about what a floor plan is, it really is just a horizontal section cut that's slicing through the building and either looking down for a floor plan or up for a reflected ceiling.
