- [Instructor] In this video I'm going to add room elements to this commercial plan, and the emphasis is going to be on controlling the numbering or the sequence of the rooms. Now, when you do this in a residential project you're probably not as concerned about what sequence the rooms are numbered in. In fact, you might not even bother showing the numbers at all. But in a commercial plan it's very common for each room to have a number, and in those cases it's probably more important that the sequence follows some logical pattern. Now, in Revit the only way that you're going to get it to number in a logical sequence is if you are strategic about the placement of your rooms. There are plenty of third-party tools that allow you to renumber rooms later, but I want to stress that there's nothing built into Revit that will easily allow you to renumber rooms based on any kind of pattern.
