Cutting holes using void geometry

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to continue with the geometry required for our pool table and we're going to move on to void forms. So solid forms are what we've created so far. They create actual physical objects. If you want to cut away from those objects you can use a void form. So sometimes the way to create a more complex form is to create a solid first and then carve from that solid various voids to create the more complex shape. So that's what we're going to look at here and we're going to use the void to create the pockets that cut into the surface of the pool table. Now we could go directly to the void forms drop down here and notice that you get the same five shapes that are available as solid forms. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with doing it that way. I sometimes like to create it as a solid first to get the geometry correct first, and then once I'm satisfied with the geometry then you can convert…
