- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to show you the symbol tool. With the symbol tool, we can place any kind of graphics or symbols that are required by our construction documents and we have all sorts of symbols that are used in architectural documentation. The symbol tool is best for elements that are not associated with the model in any way. In other words, non-hosted symbols. If you want a hosted symbol, then really what that is is a tag. So the symbol tool is on the annotate tab and it's right here. And if we hover over that tool, it says that it places a 2D annotation drawing symbol in the current view. So it's two-dimensional, it's view specific, which means that it's detailing, and it will also respond to the scale. So keep all those things in mind.
