Adding grids

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to lay out some grid elements. Grids are vertical datum elements that are used to locate other geometry. The most common uses for them is to locate structural geometry like columns and beams and so on. So it's not required that your project use grids but they certainly can be helpful if you're going to have those kinds of structural elements. It's a great way to organize those elements. Now I'm going to work here in this floor plan and to help us get started I've created some basic walls here to kind of represent the footprint of the building that we're after. Now, I did this just for convenience. It's not required that you have walls to start before you create the grids but I just thought it would give us a little bit more focus while we're working here.
