- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to take a look at columns. Now Revit has two kinds of columns, there are structural columns and architectural columns, both available on this little dropdown menu here. I'm going to start with the architectural columns. Now it's defaulting to this round shaped column and I would actually prefer something rectangular. So if you go over to the properties palette and click the type selector at the top, you can see that there is another family loaded into this file called rectangular column. Choose the largest size, which in the imperial file is 24 inches square, and in the metric file it's 610 millimeters square. Now the way that this works is you can actually place these columns anywhere that you like. So I could just sort of place it there in free space. But if you look over here on the properties palette, there's this moves with grids feature, and it's checked on by default. Now…
