Falloffs
- [Instructor] Now while you're modeling, many of the operations that you're going to carry out will have to be carried out on a limited subset of the geometry, rather than the entire mesh. And of course one way to determine which parts of the geometry will be affected is to use selections, but another way is to use fall-offs. So let me demonstrate. I'm going to go to the Fall-Off dropdown, in the Modo toolbar, and I'm going to select a Radial fall-off, and I'm going to draw it out on the workplane. And now, without making any kind of selection at all, I'm going to hit the W key to activate the move tool, and I'm going to move it up in the Y axis. Let me just tumble the viewport so you can see things a bit more clearly. So as you can see the fall-off is determining how the underlying polygons are being affected by the move operation.
