Duplicating and instancing
- [Instructor] In this video we're going to take a look at duplicating materials in the Shader Tree. I have a wooden material applied to this cube object. Now let's I want to duplicate this material and also apply it onto the cylinder and the cone. Well, there's several different ways you could do this. All with slightly different results. Let's start by taking a look at the most straightforward which is to simply duplicate all the components of a material, and copy them from one material group, in the Shader Tree, to another. So I'm going to click on the wooden cube in preview to select it's material in the Shader Tree. And with the base material selected, I'm going to hold Shift, and I'm going to select to top map in the group in order to select all of the maps within that group. And then I'm going to right click. And from the resulting menu, I'm going to select duplicate. And then I'm simply going to left click and drag all of those duplicates into the wooden cylinder material. And…
