Save a baseline of your plan
Capturing a snapshot of your plan is needed if you want to learn how your team performs when delivering tasks. And a warning, if you don't save the baseline, you lose the ability to show any plan variances and the ability to learn from those variances. I'm going to take one of the companion files and set it up so I have tasks in the past and tasks in the future. Let me review how you might do this in case you want to try the same thing yourself. First thing I'll review is my favorite shortcut, if you're not using it by now, you probably should be. The task bars are off the screen, all you have to do is select any task and click "Scroll to task." Bring those bars into focus, and if you haven't done this already yet, I typically recommend right click on it, add it to your quick access toolbar so it's there and available to you at all times.
