You can decide when project thinks a resource is overbooked by adjusting max units. Here is our Max Units column. You may notice you don't see the full description, but you can adjust that if needed. And really all this is doing is telling you and telling Project when a resource is over allocated. A hundred percent is the default. Typically, that's an eight-hour day. But remember, we had copy editors and we have more than one. I could put 400% to represent four people. Now, let me give you an example from one of my clients. They are a Botanical Gardens and they have volunteers and they often assign volunteers to many things, such as taking tickets or perhaps cleaning up trash. And what they do with the volunteers is they just list them and they put in something like 1,000% to represent 10 volunteers. And any time they need a volunteer, they use that resource.
