- [Instructor] What is Power Automate and what can I do with it? Power Automate is a cloud based application that you can use to connect apps and services together to create workflow processes. Now, these workflows can help you by doing repetitive tasks automatically, and that's going to save you time so you can be more efficient. Let's take a look. We're here on the homepage of our Microsoft 365, and we're going to come up here to the upper left corner and click on the app launcher. Once we click there you should see Power Automate here in your shortcuts to apps. If you don't, come on down and click on all apps, and they're listed alphabetically and you can go down until you find Power Automate. Now, if you don't see Power Automate that means you don't have access to it and you'll need to talk to your administrator. But we do so we're going to click on it and it takes us here to the Power Automate homepage. Now, I want you to take a look up here at the top. You see this yellow bar that comes across? Now, this is just temporary. This is happening right now because Microsoft is changing the location of Power Automate from HTTPS flowmicrosoft.com to make that powerautomate.com. So let's go ahead and we're going to click there on that link and it's going to take us to the new page. And we'll close up the old one. And here we are on our Power Automate homepage. Now, what would you like to automate? And we see here templates for four very popular processes or flows. Save Gmail attachments to your Google drive, analyze incoming emails and route them to the right person, notify me on teams when I receive an email with negative sentiment, and save email attachments to the file system. These are all popular templates for flows. Let's go ahead and let's take a look at some of those other templates. When we click here, we're going to start to see a list of the Power Automate flow templates that we have available to us. And there are hundreds of them. See here, we're going to click on see more templates, and it's just going to keep going. There are a lot of templates already, and there are more being added all the time. We can come up here to the top and we can see categories of templates like the top picks. These are some of the most popular ones. Follow up on a message, start an approval when a file is added to SharePoint, schedule a reply, notify a team when planner tasks change status. We can look for templates having to do with remote work. Email me with a list of upcoming calendar events. We can look at approval templates, create a planner task when a Microsoft form is submitted. Button flows, which are mobile flows, because there is a mobile app available both in Android, iOS, and windows, so you can put it on your surface tablet. Flow templates simply for Visio, templates for data collection. Look at this, run sentiment analysis on tweets and push results to a power BI data set. Email flows, save outlook.com email attachments to your OneDrive. And calendar flows. Get daily reminders from your outlook.com email. Lots of different workflows that you can create using Power Automate. Power Automate is a great tool that can help save you time and take away those repetitive tasks.
